hi, i'm sanaya.

I'm a ethnographer, documentarian,  and editor.  With a recently acquired Masters in Visual Anthropology, and as an undergraduate alumna of the Cinema and Media Studies program through the School of Cinematic Arts at USC, I'm incredibly passionate about documenting and sharing stories for social change. After graduating, I started on my professional journey in the post-production world and have gained considerable experience as a Post-PA and Junior Assistant Editor since. Ultimately,I hope to be a part of projects that will share the lesser-known stories of our world and inspire change in the making.

In one of my favorite TedTalks entitled “Where is Home?”, speaker Pico Iyer closes by stating that, “home, in the end, is of course not just the place where you sleep. It's the place where you stand.” Literally, standing itself is an impossible feat without the physical workings of the body. Metaphorically, standing requires the confidence to love your body, and by extension to love yourself, in order to make it your home. I know that many people do not feel at home in their own bodies because of the continued silent oppression of post-colonial coloniality, myself included. I want to dedicate myself, my talents, and my creative abilities to help people feel free and at home in their bodies.
